As medicines the drugs having the directed impact on enzymatic processes of an organism find broad application. A number of drugs of proteolytic action (trypsin, chymotrypsin, etc.), special fibrinolytic drugs (fibrinolysin, Streptoliasum, etc.), the drugs depolymerizing RNA and DNA (ribonuclease, a deoxyribonuclease), drugs reducing viscosity of hyaluronic acid (a lidaza, a ronidaza), etc. is received.
These drugs began to use often at treatment of the diseases which are followed is purulent - necrotic processes, in thromboses and tromboemboliya, disturbances of processes of digestion, etc. Fermental drugs find also application at treatment of oncological diseases (see Asparaginase). The inhibitors of proteolytic enzymes (see Pantripin, Ingitril, etc.) which are widely applied at treatment of acute pancreatitis and other diseases concern them; selectively operating fibrinolysis inhibitors (see. Aminocapronic acid, etc.), applied as antihemorrhagic means, etc.
Also big group of antikholinesterazny drugs, monoamine oxidase inhibitors applied as psychotropic drugs, the karboangidraza inhibitors used as diuretics is among inhibitors of enzymes. The efficiency of Allopyrinolum at a hyperuricemia is connected with inhibition it xanthineoxidase enzyme. Effect of Teturamum at treatment of alcoholism is connected with oppression of acetaldehyde oxidase enzyme by it.
The important group of medicinal substances is made by the reaktivator of enzymes restoring the inactivated function of enzymes (see Reaktivatora of cholinesterase).
